Founded in 1998, Superior Solid Surface is a veteran-owned and family-operated business rooted in Pasco County, Florida. For more than 25 years, we’ve proudly served homeowners, businesses, and builders with custom countertops and cabinetry designed to stand the test of time.
What started as a small family shop in Port Richey has grown into a trusted name, with three generations working side by side to deliver exceptional craftsmanship. From residential kitchens to large-scale commercial projects, our certified fabricators and installers take pride in every detail—because to us, every project is personal.

Our Leadership Team
Robert James, President
Robert James, President of Superior Solid Surface, grew up in Pennsylvania where he learned the value of hard work while helping his father in commercial construction. After serving in the United States Coast Guard, Robert founded Superior Solid Surface in 1998 while stationed in Clearwater, Florida. What began as a small venture quickly grew as he secured major contracts and invited family members to join the business. Today, under his leadership, Superior Solid Surface continues to thrive as a veteran-owned, family-operated company built on craftsmanship, integrity, and tradition.
Brian James, Vice-President
Brian James, Vice President of Superior Solid Surface, brings over 30 years of woodworking and solid surface experience. He began his career in Pennsylvania, honing his craft through casket making and countertop work, before moving into the solid surface industry in New Jersey in 1994. In 1998, Brian joined Superior Solid Surface, where his expertise and dedication have been instrumental in the company’s growth and success.
Ellie, Ginger, & Harbor, Happiness Managers
These three shop dogs may not cut countertops, but they’re pros at boosting morale, greeting visitors with wagging tails, and making sure everyone takes the occasional play break. From naps in the office to supervising projects from their favorite sunny spot, they’re an essential part of the Superior Solid Surface family.
